Forte regularly issues calls for proposals to strengthen the knowledge base within social services. The starting point for all calls for proposals within the programme on applied welfare research is the strategic research agenda and the eight priority research areas presented therein.

Forte actively works to ensure that the calls for proposals reflect the mission to fund research based on the needs of practice and service users.

Next Call for Proposals: Applied Welfare Research 2025

The next call for proposals is tentatively scheduled to open in the fall of 2024. The preliminary start of funding is in the spring of 2025. The call for proposals includes the following types of grants:

  • Research overviews

Eight Priority Research Areas

The starting point for all calls for proposals is the program’s strategic research agenda and the eight priority research areas presented therein:

  • Effects of interventions
  • Methods for assessing individuals’ needs for services
  • Preventive work and early interventions in social services
  • Implementation, change, and improvement work
  • Integrated service chains and cooperation
  • User involvement/participation
  • Digitalization and welfare technology
  • Non-profit and private sectors as providers of social services

General requirements for applying for grants within the program include that the research is relevant and applicable within the operational areas of social services and for service users, and that the research is conducted in collaboration with relevant stakeholders in the field.

Your Organization must have an Account in Prisma

In order to apply for funding from Forte, a Swedish university, college, or other research organization must manage the funds. For this, an organizational account in Prisma is required. Organizations that will be fund administrators should apply for an organizational account well in advance through Prisma.
