Forte participates in various collaborations, projects and networks that aim to increase efforts and knowledge exchange in the global arena. Read more about our current global collaborations below.
Intsam – National coordination for collaborations
Intsam is a coordinating function for funding of international research and innovation collaborations outside the EU. Intsam is led by Vinnova. Forte, the Swedish Research Council, Formas, the Swedish Space Agency and the Swedish Energy Agency are all involved in Intsam.
Ensuring Value in Research (EViR)
Forte is a member of an international network of research funders; Ensuring Value in Research (EViR), established 2016. The network’s goal is to share experiences and knowledge and develop new ways to increase the benefits of funded research. Forte participates in EViR’s steering group and thus constitutes a central role in the planning and development work of the network itself.
Indian collaboration for ageing and health
On 1 June 2015, Forte signed an agreement with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for research collaboration in the field of ageing and health. The collaboration began in 2014 with a workshop in New Delhi focused on research and research needs in ageing and health. In September 2016, Forte and ICMR announced a joint call for proposals in this field, which closed in January 2017. In February 2022 a new call within the collaboration opened: Health and welfare of ageing populations in Sweden and India 2022. More information can be found among our calls for proposals.
South African collaboration for health equality
In 2015, Forte initiated a bilateral cooperation with the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), a medical research organisation in South Africa. In 2016 and 2017 conducted joint call for proposals for collaborative projects in inequalities in health and health systems. The projects funded through these calls are now approaching the end. Forte and SAMRC are planning for future joint initiatives.
Canadian summer programme on ageing
Forte has an agreement with the Institute of Aging at the Canadian Institute for Health Research (CIHR) to fund Swedish participants in their training programme ”Summer Program in Aging”. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 summer programme, with the focus area Longitudinal studies in ageing, is postponed until 2021. Forte plans to fund four Swedish participants.
