In September, a call for proposals within NordForsk’s research programme on Welfare among Children and Young People in the Post-Pandemic Nordics will open. The call is a collaboration between Forte and NordForsk and several other Nordic research funders.

Focus

The short-term effects of the covid-19 pandemic have affected all Nordic countries, but the long-term consequences are still unknown. The overall aim of this upcoming call is to support and accelerate Nordic high-level research on the effects of pandemic on the welfare of children and young people, and to support the utilisation of that research in society.

– Funding this type of research feels very relevant right now, says Lidija Kolouh, programme manager for Forte’s ten-year national programme on mental health research. We need much more knowledge about how children’s and young people’s education, leisure, physical and mental health as well as social relationships are affected by the pandemic.

About the call

The research projects must include partners from research performing organisations in at least three Nordic countries.

The call will open in September 2022, with deadline in December 2022. The maximum amount of funding that may be sought will be around 9-10 MNOK. The project duration is up to four years.

Preliminary timetable

The call opens: September 2022
The call closes: December 2022
