Domestic Violence and Honor-related Violence
In August 2021, Forte was given a special government assignment to map research on men’s violence against women, domestic violence and honor-related violence and opression. The assignment is part of the government’s package of measures to strengthen preventive work and combat men’s violence against women.
As part of the assignment, Forte commissioned Susanne Strand, associate professor of criminology at Örebro University, to produce a report on existing research on preventive work and risk management, as well as knowledge gaps. In December, Forte organized a hearing to gather input from researchers and other key stakeholders in the field. A reference group with representatives from authorities and non-profit activities in the area has also been formed and conntected to the assignment.
Forte reported the results of the assignment to the government in February 2022.
