Areas of coordination
Forte is commissioned by the Swedish Government to coordinate the national research in five areas: children and young people, ageing, disability, social research on alcohol and narcotics and international migration and ethnic relations (IMER).

Coordination for increased impact and societal benefit
As a coordinator for an area, Forte works to
- create an overview of research in the area
- identify knowledge gaps and research needs
- contribute to ensuring that research results benefit society.
The coordinating responsibility only applies to research connected to Forte's overall areas: health, working life and welfare.
Increased collaboration between actors
We work to increase collaboration between different actors linked to our coordination areas, such as researchers, research funders, authorities and user organisations.
In the long term our work within the areas of coordination aims to increase the impact of research in different sectors of society and stimulate the implementation of research results. We do this by trying to bridge the gap between research, policy and practice in various ways.
