Healthcare of the future 2026 (THCS)
The European partnership Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS) has launched its fourth transnational call “Access to Care”. Forte will support this call with approximately 15 million SEK.

Scope of the call
The aim of this call is to fund research and innovation projects that contribute to ensuring equitable access to and utilisation of health and care services and provide policy and decision makers should gain the knowledge and tools necessary to implement the reallocation of resources as the health and care system undergoes a transition to meet new and ongoing challenges. 32 funding agencies participate.
Projects funded under this call will build on existing evidence to deliver innovative solutions that enable key stakeholders to reduce inequalities in access to and utilisation of health and care services. Projects will address how to improve access to all levels of health and care through financial models, models for delivering health and care services and setting up of interdisciplinary integrated care programmes.
About the grant
In this call it is possible to apply for projects with a minimum of one year, and a maximum of three years duration. Each consortium must include a minimum of three eligible partners, from at least three different countries.

Requirements from Forte
For Forte to approve Swedish applicants, the applicant must have completed a doctoral degree. To be able to apply for a grant, a Swedish university or another research funding body must administrate the funding and have an organisational account in Prisma. - Deadline for submission of pre-proposal to THCS: 2 February 2026

Application
Proposals should be submitted through THCS online submission platform. Further details of the research topics and how to apply can be found in the call text on the THCS website.
Swedish applicants who in step two are invited to submit a full proposal must also register the Swedish part of their THCS-project to Forte in Prisma. More information and instructions will be published here later.
Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS)
THCS has been established as a European Joint Program partnership co-funded from the European Commission. The aim of THCS is to coordinate and optimize research and innovation efforts in Europe and its partners countries supporting health and care systems transformation. As a Swedish partner, Forte has a special responsibility to coordinate and help develop the partnership program.
