NordForsk, Academy of Finland, Formas, the Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development, Forte, the Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare, the Swedish Energy Agency and the Research Council of Norway, are collaborating to fund research in the fields of sustainable urban development and smart cities. Tentatively, a call for proposals will be issued on 14 March 2019 through the programme Sustainable Urban Development and Smart Cities.

Four research projects with a budget of maximum NOK 12.5 million each will be funded. The application deadline is set to 4 June 2019.

The aim of the programme is to promote cooperation between the knowledge communities in the Nordic countries in order to enhance opportunities and address challenges relating to sustainable urban development and smart cities.
