Research brief: Ageing and memory

Cognitive abilities such as memory and language deteriorate with age. These skills are important for productivity, health and the opportunity to live an independent life in old age. It is likely that many different changes in the brain contribute towards cognitive ageing, but it is not known which are the most significant.
