NOK 300 million for research on AI
NordForsk has decided to fund 17 projects that applied for grants under the call Responsible use of artificial intelligence, in which Forte is a co-funding partner.

A total of approximately NOK 300 million will be shared between the 17 projects. They focus on how AI can be developed and used in a responsible and ethical way across the Nordic and Baltic countries.
“We received more than 200 applications, many of very high quality. This was one of the reasons why we funders decided to contribute more resources than originally planned, which now enables us to grant 17 projects,” says Anna Herou, responsible for the call at Forte.
In total, the granted projects involve 163 researchers from 47 different institutions across nine Nordic or Baltic countries. Five of the 17 projects have Swedish project leaders, and 16 include Swedish participation.
“It is really encouraging to see such strong results for Swedish researchers and, from Forte’s perspective, that many of the projects are highly relevant to Forte. For example, they address issues related to healthcare, education, working life, ageing and justice,” says Anna Herou.
