SEK 25 million for research projects on primary and community care in Europe

Forte has decided to fund nine research projects that applied in the third international call within the partnership Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS).

Forte coordinates Sweden’s participation in the THCS partnership. A total of 29 projects have now been awarded funding in the partnership’s third call, Enhancing primary and community care. Of these, nine projects with Swedish participation will receive SEK 25.3 million.

– The research aims to strengthen primary and community care and provide tools to support decision-making to improve the healthcare sector, Senior Research Officer and THCS coordinator at Forte.

– Interest was high and we received many excellent applications, not least from Sweden. Thanks to so-called top-up funding from the European Commission, we can now award grants to more Swedish projects than originally planned. From a Swedish perspective, this call has been the most successful within the partnership so far, says Staffan Arvidsson.

New upcoming call

The partnership will open its fourth call on 21 November. Its aim is to find research and innovation projects that contribute to ensuring equitable access to and utilisation of health and care services.

Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS)

THCS has been established as a European Joint Program partnership co-funded from the European Commission. The aim of THCS is to coordinate and optimize research and innovation efforts in Europe and its partners countries supporting health and care systems transformation. As a Swedish partner, Forte has a special responsibility to coordinate and help develop the partnership program.
