On 27 March, a joint call between the Swedish Research Council, Formas, Forte and Sida opens within Development Research. The focus is research on sustainability and resilience in low income countries.

Research on resilience and sustainability contribute to understanding and managing risks and consequences of extreme weather conditions, the loss of biodiversity and other threats against societies, humans and eco systems. Climate and environmental changes causes severe impact on people in low income countries. Thus, there is a great need for this type of research, with a perspective on poverty.

The call for project grant proposals within “Sustainability and resilience – Tackling consequences of climate and environmental changes” is made in collaboration between the Swedish Research Council, Formas, Forte and Sida. The proposals will be managed by the Swedish Research Council.

At least one researcher from a low income or lower middle income country, and one junior researcher from a university in Sweden, must participate in the research project.

The deadline for the call is 8 April. You will find more information about the call and instructions on how to apply on the Swedish Research Council’s website.
